Dr. Ann K. Wittkowsky, PharmD, CACP, FASHP, FCCP

Ann K. Wittkowsky, PharmD, CACP, FASHP, FCCP  is Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and Director of Anticoagulation Services at the University of Washington Medical Center. As a clinician and educator in the field of antithrombotic pharmacotherapy, she has contributed extensively to the care of patients and the education of health care providers about  antithrombotic pharmacotherapy. She is the author of over 100 scientific papers, book chapters and abstracts, and is co-editor of the text Managing Oral Anticoagulation Therapy: Clinical and Operational Guidelines. She has lectured widely throughout the United States and Canada, maintains an active clinical research program, and is board certified as an anticoagulation care provider. The Anticoagulation Services program at the University of Washington Medical Center, which Dr. Wittkowsky directs, has served as a training site and model for pharmacist-managed anticoagulation clinics throughout the US and Canada. 

Dr. Wittkowsky serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for numerous medical and scientific journals, and on the boards of directors for The Anticoagulation Forum, a multidisciplinary organization of anticoagulation care providers, and  the National Certification Board of Anticoagulation Providers. Dr Wittkowsky will be a member of the American College of Chest Physicians 8th Conference on Antithrombotic and Thrombolytic Therapy, which develops evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of thromboembolic disease. She participated in the press event that launched www.MyBloodThinner.org in May 2006.
